The pot roast comes out remarkably fall-apart tender in the slow cooker with the perfect gravy that you can make from the roasting juices. Not to mention all the tender potatoes, carrots, and celery that soak up all that flavor. Sometimes, all you need a classic comfort food dish that draws you back home. Something your mom used to make. Something you can hold on a Sunday night with colleagues and relatives.

(4 -5 lb) beef roast
(1 1/4 ounce) package brown gravy mix – dry
(1 1/4 ounce) dried Italian salad dressing
(1 1/4 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
1/2 cup water
Directions
- Put the beef in the crock pot
- Mix the dried ingredients together in a bowl then sprinkle it over the roast.
- Pour some water around the roast.
- Cook on low for until tender
- Optional:
Add onion soup mix and one cup of wine, potatoes, carrots and mushroom around 15 minutes before it ends cooking
